Shiloh Established and the Land Surveyed

Joshua 18:1-10
1And all the congregation of the sons of Israel gathered at Shiloh, and they caused the tent of meeting to dwell there, and the land was subdued before them. 2And seven tribes of the sons of Israel remained that had not divided their inheritance. 3And Joshua said to the sons of Israel, "How long will you slacken to come in to possess the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, gave you?" 4Provide three men from each tribe, and I will send them; they shall arise and go through the land and write it according to the boundary of their inheritance and come to me. 5They shall divide it into seven portions: Judah shall stand on his southern border, and the house of Joseph shall stand on their northern border. 6And you shall write the land into seven portions and bring them to me here; then I will show you an allotted portion here before the LORD our God. 7For there is no portion for the Levites among you, because the priesthood of the LORD is his inheritance; and Gad and Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have taken their inheritance from the side of the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them. 8So the men arose and went, and Joshua commanded those going to write the land, saying, "Go and go through the land and write it and return to me; then I will throw an allotted portion for you here before the LORD at Shiloh." 9The men went through the land, recorded it by cities in seven portions on a scroll, and returned to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh. 10Joshua then threw an allotted portion for them at Shiloh before the LORD, and there Joshua divided the land to the sons of Israel according to their divisions.
