1David passed a little way beyond the summit, and behold, Ziba the attendant of Mephibosheth came to meet him with a pair of saddled donkeys bearing two hundred loaves of food, a hundred clusters of raisins, a hundred portions of summer fruit, and a skin of wine.2The king said to Ziba, "What do you mean by these?" Ziba answered, "The donkeys are for the king's household to ride, the food and the summer fruit are for the young men to eat, and the wine is for the weary to drink in the wilderness."3The king asked, "Where is your master's son?" Ziba replied to the king, "He is staying in Jerusalem, because he said, 'Today the house of Israel will restore my father's kingdom to me.'"4The king said to Ziba, "Everything that belonged to Mephibosheth is now yours." Ziba said, "I bow down; may I find favor in your sight, my lord the king."
