Chapter 18
1
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying.
2
Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, "I am the LORD your God."
3
You shall not do according to the deeds of the land of Egypt in which you dwelt, and you shall not do according to the deeds of the land of Canaan to which I am bringing you, and you shall not walk in their statutes.
4
You shall do my judgments and keep my statutes, walking in them. I am the LORD your God.
5
And you shall keep my statutes and my judgments, which a man does and lives in them; I am the LORD.
6
You shall not approach any flesh-kin of yours, to uncover nakedness. I am the LORD.
7
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father or the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother—you shall not uncover her nakedness.
8
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife. It is the nakedness of your father.
9
The nakedness of your sister, daughter of your father or daughter of your mother, born in the house or born outside, you shall not uncover their nakedness.
10
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son's daughter or your daughter's daughter—their nakednesses, for behold, it is your nakedness.
11
The nakedness of the daughter of your father's wife, born to your father—she is your sister; you shall not uncover her nakedness.
12
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is your father's flesh.
13
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, for she is your mother's flesh.
14
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother. You shall not approach his wife—she is your father's sister-in-law.
15
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law. She is the wife of your son. You shall not uncover her nakedness.
16
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife. It is your brother's nakedness.
17
You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter; you shall not take the daughter of her son or the daughter of her daughter to uncover her nakedness. She is your close relative. Behold, it is lewdness.
18
And you shall not take a woman to her sister to be a rival, to uncover her nakedness over her in her lifetime.
19
Do not approach a woman during the impurity of her menstrual flow to uncover her nakedness.
20
And do not give your lying-with to seed for impurity in her.
21
You shall not give any of your seed to pass through to Molech, and you shall not profane the name of your God—I am the LORD.
22
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
23
And you shall not give your lying with any beast to ritual impurity with it, and a woman shall not stand before a beast to mate with it; it is a perversion.
24
Do not defile yourselves with all these, for with all these the nations defiled themselves, which I am driving out from before you.
25
And the earth became ritually impure, and I will oversee its iniquity upon it, and the earth will vomit out its inhabitants.
26
You shall keep my statutes and my judgments, and you shall not do any of these abominations—no citizen or sojourner, the sojourner in your midst.
27
for all these abominations the men of the land who were before you did, and the land became impure.
28
And the land will not vomit you out when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.
29
For everyone who does any of these abominations, the souls who do them will be cut off from the midst of their people.
30
And you shall keep my charge, not to do the statutes of the abominations that were done before you, and you shall not become unclean by them—I am the LORD your God.
