Judgment on the Philistines and Promise to the Remnant
Zephaniah 2:4-7
4For Gaza will be forsaken and Ashkelon will become a devastation. Ashdod—they will drive her out at midday, and Ekron will be uprooted.5Woe to the dwellers of the coast of the sea, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is upon you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines, and I will cause you to perish so that there is no dweller.6And the coast of the sea will become pastures of hollows for shepherds and walls for the flock.7And the coast will belong to the remnant of the house of Judah. Upon them they will pasture; in the houses of Ashkelon they will stretch out in the evening, for the LORD their God will reckon them and will return their captivity.
