Chapter 9
1
On the eighth day, Moses called to Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Israel.
2
He said to Aaron, "Take a calf for yourself, a son of cattle, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, unblemished ones, and bring them near before the LORD."
3
And to the sons of Israel you shall speak, saying, "Take a male goat of the goats for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, sons of a year, unblemished, for a burnt offering."
4
And an ox and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the LORD, and a grain offering mixed with oil, for today the LORD will appear to you.
5
And they took what Moses had commanded before the tent of meeting, and all the congregation approached and stood before the LORD.
6
Moses said, "This is the thing which the LORD commanded. Do it, and the glory of the LORD will appear to you."
7
And Moses said to Aaron, "Draw near to the altar and make your sin offering and your burnt offering and atone on behalf of yourself and on behalf of the people, and make the people's offering and atone on their behalf just as the LORD commanded."
8
And Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering, which was for him.
9
Aaron's sons brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar, and he poured out the blood at the base of the altar.
10
And he made the fat and the kidneys and the appendage from the liver from the sin offering smoke on the altar just as the LORD commanded Moses.
11
And he burned the flesh and the skin in fire outside the camp.
12
And he slaughtered the burnt offering, and Aaron's sons presented the blood to him, and he dashed it on the altar all around.
13
And they presented the burnt offering to him in its pieces, along with the head, and he burned them on the altar.
14
And he washed the innards and the legs and offered them up in smoke on the burnt offering on the altar.
15
And he offered the offering of the people. And he took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people, and he slaughtered it and made it a sin offering as the first one.
16
And he brought the burnt offering near and did it according to justice.
17
And he brought near the grain offering, filled his palm from it, and made it smoke on the altar apart from the burnt offering of the cattle.
18
And he slaughtered the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of the peace offerings which was for the people, and Aaron's sons presented the blood to him and he dashed it on the altar all around.
19
and the fats from the ox and from the ram, the fat-tail and the covering and the kidneys and the excess of the liver.
20
And they put the fat portions on the breasts, and he burned the fat portions on the altar as an offering made by fire.
21
Aaron waved the breast and the right thigh as a wave offering before the LORD, just as Moses commanded.
22
And Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them and came down from doing the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings.
23
Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting. They came out and blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
24
Fire came out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. All the people saw it, shouted, and fell on their faces.
