19We set out from Horeb and walked through all that great and fearsome wilderness that you saw—the way of the mountain of the Amorite—just as the LORD our God had commanded us, and we came as far as Kadesh-barnea.20I said to you, "You have come as far as the mountain of the Amorite that the LORD our God is giving us."21See, the LORD your God has given the land before you. Go up, take possession of it, just as the LORD the God of your fathers spoke to you. Do not fear and do not be dismayed.22All of you approached me and said, "Let us send men before us to search out the land for us and bring back to us a word about the way by which we should go up and the cities to which we should come."23The word was good in my eyes, so I took from you twelve men, one man for each tribe.24They turned and went up toward the mountain and came as far as the torrent of Eshcol and spied it out.25They took some of the fruit of the land in their hands, brought it down to us, and reported, "The land that the LORD our God is giving us is good."
