1And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,2And you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end has come; the end is upon the four corners of the land.3Now the end is upon you, and I will send my anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will bring all your abominations upon you.4My eye will not pity you, and I will not spare, because I will bring your ways upon you, and your abominations will be in your midst, and you will know that I am the LORD.5Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster after disaster; behold, it is coming.6An end has come; an end has come; it has awakened toward you; behold, it has come.7The diadem has come upon you, O inhabitant of the land; the time has come; the day of tumult is near, and not a shout of the mountains.8Now I will soon pour out my rage upon you, and I will spend my anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will bring all your abominations upon you.9My eye will not pity, and I will not spare; I will bring your ways upon you, and your abominations will be in your midst, and you will know that I am the LORD who strikes.10Behold, the day; behold, it has come; the diadem has come out; the rod has blossomed; the arrogance has sprouted.11Violence has risen as the rod of wickedness; it is not from them, nor from their multitude, nor from their wealth, nor is there any eminence among them.12The time has come; the day has arrived; let the buyer not rejoice, and let the seller not mourn, for burning anger is upon all her multitude.13For the seller will not return to what was sold while their living things remain alive, because the vision concerning all her multitude will not return, and no one will strengthen himself in his iniquity and his life.14They have blown the trumpet and prepared everything, yet no one goes to the battle, because my burning anger is upon all her multitude.15The sword is outside, and pestilence and famine are within; whoever is in the field will die by the sword, and whoever is in the city, famine and pestilence will devour him.16Their survivors will escape and be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each one in his iniquity.17All hands will go limp, and all knees will turn to water.18They will put on sackcloth, and shuddering will cover them; shame will be on every face, and baldness on all their heads.19Their silver they will throw into the streets, and their gold will become impurity; their silver and their gold will not be able to rescue them in the day of the LORD's fury; their soul will not be satisfied, and their belly will not be filled, for it was the stumbling block of their iniquity.20They set the beauty of his ornament for pride, and they made their abominable images and their detestable things in it; therefore I gave it to them as something impure.21And I will give it into the hand of the strangers for plunder and to the wicked of the land for spoil, and they will profane it.22I will turn my face from them, and they will profane my treasured place; violent men will enter it and profane it.23Make the chain, for the land is full of bloody justice, and the city is full of violence.24And I will bring the bad of the nations, and they will possess their houses; and I will cause to cease the pride of the strong, and their consecrated places will be profaned.25Anguish comes, and they will seek peace, but there will be none.26Disaster after disaster will come, and rumor after rumor; they will seek a vision from the prophet, but instruction will perish from the priest and counsel from the elders.27The king will mourn, and the prince will be clothed with devastation; the hands of the people of the land will be dismayed because of their ways; I will deal with them according to their judgments and judge them, and they will know that I am the LORD.
