1And he caused me to return to the entrance of the house, and behold—waters coming out from under the threshold of the house eastward, because the face of the house was eastward, and the waters going down from under the right-hand shoulder of the house southward to the altar.2He brought me out through the north gate and led me around to the outside of the outer gate that faces east. And behold—waters were running from the right side.3As the man went out eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured a thousand cubits and made me pass through the waters—waters to the ankles.4And he measured a thousand and caused me to cross over in waters—waters of the knees—and he measured a thousand and caused me to cross over in waters of the loins.5And he measured a thousand—a channel that one cannot cross, for the waters had risen—waters to swim in, a channel that one shall not cross.6And he said to me, "Son of Adam, have you seen this?" Then he brought me and made me sit by the bank of the stream.7When I returned—and behold!—to the bank of the stream, a very great tree on this side and on that side.8And he said to me, "These waters go out toward the eastern Gilgal and go down upon the Arabah and come to the sea, to the sea of the goings out, and the waters will be healed."9And it will be that every living soul which swarms in every place the streams come there will live. And it will be that the fish will be very great in multitude because these waters have come there and they will heal, and everything which comes there to the stream will live.10And it will be: fishermen will stand on it from Ein Gedi to Ein Eglayim; they will be a spreading place for nets. Their fish will be of one kind, like the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly numerous.11Its outflows and its pools—they will not be healed; they have been given to salt.12And by the stream, on its bank on this side and on that side, every tree for food will grow. Its leaf will not wither, and its fruit will not fail. It will produce new fruit every month, because its waters come out from the sanctuary. Its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing.
