1God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the land."2The fear of you and the terror of you shall be upon every living creature of the land and upon every bird of the heaven, upon everything that creeps on the land and upon every fish of the sea; they are given into your hand.3Every creeping thing that is alive shall be food for you; I have given you all of it, as with the green vegetation.4Surely you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.5And surely your blood, that is, your lives, I will require; from every living thing I will require it, and from man, from the hand of his brother, I will require the life of man.6Whoever pours out the blood of man, by man his blood shall be poured out, for in the image of God he made man.7And you, be fruitful and multiply; swarm upon the land and multiply in it.8God spoke to Noah and to his sons who were with him, saying,9And I, behold, am establishing my covenant with you and with your seed after you,10and with every living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and every living creature of the land that is with you—everything that came out of the ark, every living creature of the land.11I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to ruin the land.12God said, "This is the sign of the covenant that I am giving between myself and you and every living soul that is with you, for generations forever.13I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of the covenant between me and the land.14When I bring a cloud over the land, the bow shall be seen in the cloud,15and I will remember my covenant between myself and you and every living creature of all flesh, so that the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.16The bow shall be in the cloud, and I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the land."17God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between myself and all flesh that is upon the land."
