Chapter 20
1
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying.
2
And to the sons of Israel you shall say: Any man from the sons of Israel or from the stranger—the stranger in Israel—who gives from his seed to Molech, he shall be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with the stone.
3
And I will set my face against that man, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people, because he has given of his seed to the king in order to defile my sanctuary and to profane my holy Name.
4
And if they overlook it and turn their eyes from that man when he gives his seed to Molech, so as not to put him to death.
5
And I will set my face against that man and against his family, and I will cut him off and all who whore after him, to whore after their king from the midst of their people.
6
And the person who turns to the spirits of the dead and to the spiritists to commit spiritual infidelity after them, I will set my face against that person and I will cut him off from the midst of his people.
7
And consecrate yourselves and you shall be holy, for I am the LORD your God.
8
And you shall keep my statutes and do them; I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
9
For any man who curses his father and his mother—he shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father and his mother, and his blood is upon him.
10
And if a man commits adultery with the wife of his companion—death! The adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.
11
And a man who lies with his father's wife—his father's nakedness he has uncovered. They shall be put to death, both of them; their blood is upon them.
12
And if a man lies with his daughter-in-law—death! They shall be put to death, both of them. She has profaned; they have done it, their blood is upon them.
13
And a man who lies with a male as with a woman—they have done an abomination, both of them. They shall be put to death. Their blood is upon them.
14
And a man who takes a woman and her mother—it is a sexual abomination; they shall burn him and them with fire, so that there is no sexual abomination in your midst.
15
And if a man has sexual relations with a beast—he shall be put to death, and you shall kill the beast.
16
And a woman who draws near to any beast to mate with it—you shall kill the woman and the beast. They shall be put to death; their blood is upon them.
17
And if a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and he sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness—it is a disgrace, and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people; he has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
18
And a man who lies with a woman who has a flow and uncovers her nakedness, her source of nakedness, and she uncovers the source of her blood—they shall both be cut off from the midst of their people.
19
You shall not uncover the nakednesses of your mother's sister and your father's sister, for he has uncovered his relative; they shall bear their sin.
20
And a man who lies with his aunt—he uncovers his uncle's nakedness—their sin they will bear; childless they will die.
21
And a man who takes his brother's wife—it is a ritual impurity; he has uncovered his brother's nakedness. They will be childless.
22
And you shall keep all my statutes and all my judgments and do them, and the land will not vomit you out, which I am bringing you there to dwell in it.
23
And do not walk in the statutes of the nation which I am driving out from before you, for they did all these things and I cut them off.
24
And I said to you, "You shall possess their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God, who have separated you from the peoples."
25
And you shall distinguish between the pure beast and the impure, and between the impure bird and the pure; and you shall not make your nephesh abominable with beast, with bird, or with any creeping thing on the land which I have distinguished to you as impure.
26
And you shall be holy to me, because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have separated you from the peoples to be mine.
27
And a man or a woman who has in them a spirit of the dead or a familiar spirit shall be put to death; they shall stone them with stones—their blood is upon them.
