Psalm 41:1-13

Chapter 41
To the director. A psalm. Of David. 1 Blessed is the one who considers the poor; the LORD will deliver him on the day of evil. 2 The LORD will keep him and he will live; you will not give him into the soul of his enemies in the land. 3 The LORD sustains him on the bed of sickness; you have turned all his lying down in his illness. 4 I said, "LORD, be gracious to me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against you." 5 My enemies say evil things to me: "When will he die and his name perish?" 6 And if he comes to see me, he speaks emptiness; his heart gathers iniquity to himself; when he goes outside, he tells it abroad. 7 All my enemies whisper together against me; they devise evil against me. 8 A word of Belial is poured out upon him, and that on which he lies down he will not add to rise. 9 Even my man of peace, whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has magnified a heel against me. 10 But you, LORD, favor me and raise me up, that I may repay them. 11 By this I know that you delight in me, for my enemy does not shout over me. 12 But as for me, in my integrity you have supported me and set me before your face forever. 13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from eternity and to eternity. Amen and Amen.
