Psalm 107:1-43

Chapter 107
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the oppressor. 3 and gathered them from the lands, from east and west, from north and sea. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate place; they did not find the way to a city of dwelling. 5 They will also be hungry and thirsty; their soul will be enwrapped in them. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their distresses. 7 He led them by a straight way until they reached a city to dwell in. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and his divine distinctions to the sons of humanity. 9 For he satisfied a thirsting nephesh, and a hungry nephesh he filled—good. 10 Dwellers in darkness and the shadow of death, prisoners of affliction and iron. 11 for they rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High. 12 And they humbled themselves in the toil of their heart; they stumbled, and there is no Helper. 13 Then they cried out to the LORD in their distress; he saved them from their distresses. 14 He brings them out of darkness and deep shadow, and he snaps their bonds. 15 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and his wonders to the sons of humanity. 16 For he broke bronze doors and cut down iron bars. 17 Fools are afflicted because of their way of transgression and their afflictions. 18 All food their soul abhors, and they drew near to the gates of death. 19 And they cried out to the LORD in their distress; he saves them from their distresses. 20 He sends his word and heals them and delivers them from their Sheols. 21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and his wonders to the sons of humanity. 22 And they shall sacrifice thank offerings and shall recount his deeds with ringing cries. 23 Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on many waters. 24 They saw the works of the LORD and his wonders in the deep. 25 He said, and a storm wind arose and lifted the waves. 26 They go up to the heavens; they go down to the deeps. Their soul melts away in evil. 27 They reel and stagger like a drunkard, and all their wisdom is swallowed up. 28 Then they cried out to the LORD in their distress, and he brought them out from their distresses. 29 He makes the storm calm, and their waves are hushed. 30 And they rejoiced because they were stilled, and he guided them to the haven of their desire. 31 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and his wonders to the sons of humanity. 32 Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the seat of the elders. 33 He turns rivers into a wilderness and springs of water into thirst. 34 A land of fruit to saltness from the evil of its inhabitants in it. 35 He turns the wilderness into a pond of water and the parched ground into springs of water. 36 And he settled the hungry there and established a city of settlement for them. 37 And they sowed fields and planted vineyards and obtained fruit from their produce. 38 And he blessed them, and they multiplied greatly, and he did not let their livestock diminish. 39 And they were few, and they bowed down from the restraint of evil and grief. 40 He poured contempt on nobles and led them astray into tohu, no way. 41 And he lifted the afflicted out of affliction, and he set their clans like a flock. 42 The upright will see and rejoice, and every injustice will shut its mouth. 43 Who is wise and will keep these? They will discern the steadfast loves of the LORD.
