Psalm 78:45-72

Chapter 78
45 He sent swarms among them and frogs, and they destroyed them. 46 He gave their produce to the locust and their labor to the swarm-locust. 47 He killed their vines and fig trees with hail and frost. 48 He sent among them the heat of his anger, wrath and fury and distress, a delegation of messengers of evil. 49 He sent among them the burning of his anger, wrath and indignation, and distress—a commissioned band of evil angels. 50 And he made level a path for his anger; he did not darken their life force with death, their life to the word he delivered. 51 And he struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the first of their strength, in the tents of Ham. 52 And he led his people like a flock and guided them like a herd in the wilderness. 53 And he brought them to the border of his holy place, this mountain which his right hand had acquired. 54 And he brought them to the territorial boundary of his consecration/holiness, this cosmic mountain that his right side in rituals acquired/bought. And he drove out nations from before them and cast them in the cords of inheritance and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents. 55 He drove nations out from before them, cast them down in their allotted inheritance, and made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents. 56 They tested and rebelled against God Most High; they did not keep his testimonies. 57 They provoked him with their high places, and enraged him with their idols. 58 God heard and was angry, and he greatly rejected Israel. 59 God heard and was exceedingly angry, and he very much rejected Israel. He abandoned his dwelling place, the tent of his dwelling in man. 60 He abandoned his tabernacle, the tent where he dwelt in Adam. 61 He gave his strength and his glory into captivity in the hand of the adversary. 62 Fire devoured his chosen ones, and his virgins were not praised. 63 His priests fell by the sword, and his virgins were not hymned. 64 His priests fell by the sword, and his widows did not weep. 65 And he awoke as from sleep, the Lord as a mighty man who shouts triumphantly from wine. 66 And he struck his adversaries backward; he gave them reproach as an eternal possession. 67 And he rejected the tent of Joseph, and he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim. He chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. 68 And he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he loved. And he built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth he founded it forever. 69 And he built his sanctuary like the heights; he founded the earth forever. 70 And he chose his servant David and took him from the pens of the flock. 71 From following the ascent he brought them to shepherd in Jacob his people and in Israel his inheritance.
