Psalm 139:1-24

Chapter 139
For the director. A psalm of David. The LORD has searched me and known me. 1 You have known my sitting and my rising; you have discerned my thoughts from afar. 2 You knew my lying down and my rising up; you sifted my sitting and my rising, and you were familiar with all my paths. 3 For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, LORD, you know it altogether. 4 For there is no word on my tongue—behold, O LORD, you know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Where will I go from your Spirit, and where will I flee from your face? 7 If I ascend to heaven, there you are; and if I make my bed in Sheol, there you are. 8 If I ascend on the wings of the dawn, I dwell at the end of the sea; if I lift up wings of the morning, I settle in the remotest sea. 9 Even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will grasp me. 10 even there your hand will guide me, and your right hand will grasp me. 11 Even darkness will not be dark to you, and the night will shine like the day; light like darkness. 12 Even darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. 13 I thank you because you formed my inmost parts; you wove me in my mother's womb. 14 I will thank you because I have been wonderfully made; your works are extraordinary and awesome, and my soul you have known very skillfully. 15 My frame your eyes saw, and in your book all of them were written; the days were formed, and not one of them was. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in your book all of them were written—the days that were formed, and not one of them is missing. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! If I count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you. 18 If I count them, they are more than I can count; I awake, and I am still with you. 19 If you would kill the wicked, O God, and men of blood, turn away from me. 20 Do I not hate those who hate you, LORD, and loathe those who rise up against you? 21 Do I not hate those whom you hate, LORD? I hate them with perfect hatred. I will contend against your enemies. 22 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Lead me in the way everlasting.
