Psalm 48:1-14

Chapter 48
A song, a psalm, for the sons of Korah. 1 Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, his holy mountain. 2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of all the land is Mount Zion, the recesses of the North, the city of the great king. 3 God is known in her palaces as a high tower. 4 For behold, the kings assembled; they passed by together. 5 They saw it, so they marveled; they were alarmed, they hurried away. 6 Trembling seized them there, pain as of a woman in labor. 7 With the east wind you shatter the ships of Tarshish. 8 As we have heard, so we have seen it in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God. God will establish it until the everlasting covenant. Selah. 9 We have pondered your steadfast love, God, in the midst of your temple. 10 As your name, O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the land. Righteousness fills your right hand. 11 Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah exult because of your judgments. 12 Walk about Zion and circle it; count her towers. 13 Go around Zion and circle her; count her towers, 14 For this is God, our God forever and ever; he will guide us upon death.
