The Glorious Restoration of the Redeemed

Isaiah 35:1-10

Chapter 35
1 The wilderness and the dry land will rejoice; the plains will exult and blossom like the crocus. 2 It will bloom with blossoms and rejoice with exultation and sing for joy; the glory of Lebanon has given it the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the majesty of our God. 3 Strengthen weak hands and make faltering knees firm. 4 Say to those with a hasty heart, "Be strong; do not fear. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you." 5 Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be opened. 6 Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing for joy, for waters have burst open in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. 7 And the mirage will become a pond, and thirst a spring of water; in the haunt of jackals, a resting place for reed and papyrus. 8 And there will be a highway and a way, a Highway of Holiness—it will be called. The unclean will not pass over it, but it will be for those who walk in the way, and fools will not go astray. 9 No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not go up on it. You will not find it there, and the redeemed will go. 10 And the redeemed of the LORD will return and come to Zion with shouts of joy and eternal joy upon their heads. They will attain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
