Revelation 6:1-17

Chapter 6
1 I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder: "Come!" 2 And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and the one sitting on it having a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and in order to conquer. 3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come." 4 And another horse, fiery red, went out, and to the one sitting on it was given to take peace from the earth, and so that people should slaughter one another; and a great sword was given to him. 5 When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come." And I looked, and there was a black horse! Its rider held a yoke in his hand. 6 Then I heard a voice among the four living creatures say, "A choinix of wheat for a denarius, and three choinices of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine." 7 And when he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come." 8 And I saw, and behold, a pale horse, and the one sitting on it had the name Death, and Hades was following with him. And authority was given to them over the fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with death and with the beasts of the earth. 9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony which they had. 10 They cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Until when, Lord, holy and true one, do you not judge and avenge our blood from those who dwell on the earth?" 11 And a white robe was given to them, one to each, and they were told to rest yet a little time, until their fellow slaves and their brothers, who were about to be killed as they had been, were fulfilled. 12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake happened, and the sun became black as hairy sackcloth, and the whole moon became like blood, 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind, 14 And the heaven was separated as a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved from their places. 15 The kings of the earth, the magnates, the chiliarchs, the rich, the powerful, and every slave and free person hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 And they say to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one sitting on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb." 17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?
