Psalm 32:1-33:22

Chapter 32
Of David. A maskil. Blessed are those forgiven of transgression, whose sin is covered. 1 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not reckon iniquity and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 2 For when I kept silent, my bones wore out in my roaring all day long. 3 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my bones wasted away while I groaned. Selah. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; I was turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 5 At this time the righteous will pray to you when they find you; only to a flood of many waters they will not reach him. 6 You are a hiding place for me from distress; you will preserve me. With the joyful shout of deliverance you will surround me. Selah. 7 You are my hiding place. You will enclose me in distress. You will surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah. 8 I will make you wise and shine on you. In this way you will go. I will counsel you, my eye upon you. Do not be like a horse or a mule, without understanding; whose bit and bridle restrain it, lest they come near you. 9 Many pains come to the wicked, but the one who trusts in the LORD, lovingkindness will surround him. 10 Rejoice in the LORD and exult, righteous ones, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.

Chapter 33
1 Rejoice, righteous ones, in the LORD; to the upright, praise is fitting. 2 Give thanks to the LORD with a lyre, with a harp, with a ten-stringed instrument; sing to him. 3 Sing to him a new song; make good music with the trumpet blast. 4 For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his workmanship is in faithfulness. 5 He loves righteousness and justice; the steadfast love of the LORD fills the earth. 6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the spirit of his mouth all their host. 7 He gathered the waters of the sea like a heap; he put them in treasuries of the primordial deep. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the earth fear him. 9 For he said, and it was; he commanded, and it stood. 10 The LORD frustrates the counsel of nations; he annuls the plans of peoples. 11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever; the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. 13 From heaven the LORD looks down; he sees all the sons of humanity. 14 From the place of his dwelling he looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth. 15 he who fashions their hearts together, understanding all their deeds. 16 There is no king saved by much might; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. 17 A lie is the horse for salvation, and by the abundance of his might he will not escape. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope for his steadfast love. 19 to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our helper and our shield. 21 For our heart rejoices in him, for we have trusted in his holy name. 22 May your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, just as we have hoped in you.
