John 5:31-47

Chapter 5
31 If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true. 32 There is another who testifies about me, and I know that the testimony he gives about me is true. 33 You sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. 34 But I do not receive testimony from a human. I say these things so that you might be saved. 35 He was the lamp, the burning and shining one, but you were willing to rejoice for an hour in his light. 36 But I have a witness greater than John's, for the works which the Father has given me to complete—these works which I do bear witness about me that the Father has sent me. 37 And the Father who sent me has testified about me. You have never heard his voice or seen his form. 38 and you do not have his Word remaining in you, because you do not believe the one whom he sent. 39 Search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life, and those are the ones testifying about me. 40 Yet you do not wish to come to me so that you may have life. 41 I do not receive glory from humans. 42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. 43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive that one. 44 How can you believe, receiving glory from one another and not seeking the glory that comes from the only God? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, in whom you have hoped. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. 47 But if you do not believe his scriptures, how will you believe my words?
