Numbers 10:1-10

Chapter 10
1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2 Make two silver trumpets of hammered work for yourself; you shall make them, and they will be for you for calling the assembly of the congregation and for the departure of the camps. 3 They will blow on them, and all the congregation will assemble to you at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 4 But if they blow only one trumpet, the chieftains, the heads of the thousands of Israel, will be summoned to you. 5 And you shall sound a teruah, and the camps of those encamping toward qedmah shall journey. 6 When you sound a teruah a second time, the camps on the south side shall set out; they shall sound a teruah for their journeys. 7 When assembling the congregation, you shall sound the blast, but you shall not sound the alarm. 8 And the sons of Aaron the priests shall blow the trumpets, and they shall be to you for a statute of eternity for your generations. 9 If you go to war in your land against an adversary who oppresses you, and you sound the trumpets, then you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. 10 On the day of your gladness and at your appointed feasts and at the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over your peace offerings. And they will be for you a reminder before your God. I am the LORD your God.
