Chapter 18
1 And the LORD said to Aaron, "You and your sons and the house of your father with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood." 2 And also your brother from the tribe of Levi, your father's staff, the one brought near with you—they will accompany you and they will serve you, and you and your sons with you before the Tent of the Testimony. 3 And they shall keep your charge and the charge of all the temple, but they shall not approach the vessels of the holy portion or the altar, and they shall not die—both they and you. 4 And they shall join with you and keep the charge of the tent of meeting for all the service of the tent, and a stranger shall not come near to you. 5 And you shall keep the charge of the holy portion and the charge of the altar, and there shall no longer be wrath upon the sons of Israel. 6 And I, behold, have taken your brothers the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel to you as a gift; they are given to the LORD to serve the service of the tent of meeting. 7 And you and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood for every matter of the altar and for the house to the veil, and you shall serve the service of a gift that we have given your priesthood, and the stranger who approaches shall be put to death.
