Chapter 5
22 Moses returned to the LORD and said, "Lord, why have you brought harm to this people? Why did you send me?" 23 Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, you have brought evil on this people, and you have not rescued your people.

Chapter 6
1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand he will send them out and with a strong hand he will drive them out from his land." 2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD." 3 And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself known to them. 4 I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojourning places in which they sojourned. 5 I have also heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians are causing to serve them, and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Therefore say to the sons of Israel: I am the LORD, and I have brought you out from under the burdens of Egypt, and I have delivered you from their service, and I have redeemed you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. 7 And I will take you as my people, and I will be your God, and you will know that I am the LORD your God, the one who brings you out from under the burdens of Egypt. 8 And I will bring you to the land that I raised my hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and I will give it to you as an inheritance; I am the LORD. 9 And Moses spoke in this way to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses because of shortness of spirit and because of hard service. 10 And the LORD said to Moses: 11 Go in and speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he will send the sons of Israel out from his land. 12 And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "Behold, the sons of Israel did not listen to me, and how will Pharaoh listen to me? And I am uncircumcised of lips."
