Warning Against Enticement by Sinners

Proverbs 1:8-19

1
Chapter 1
8 Hear, my son, the discipline of your father, and do not abandon the Torah of your mother. 9 For they are a wreath of grace for your head and Anakim for your throat. 10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. 11 If they say to you, "Come with us; let us lie in wait for blood, let us hide freely for the innocent." 12 We will swallow them alive, blameless ones, like those going down to the pit. 13 Every wealth of valuables we will find; we will fill our houses—booty. 14 You will cast your lot in our midst; one bag will be for all of us. 15 My son, do not walk in the way with them; withhold your foot from their path. 16 For their feet run to evil, and they hasten to shed blood. 17 For in vain he scatters the net in the eyes of every owner of wings. 18 And they lie in wait for their blood; they store up for their nephesh. 19 So are the ways of every exploitation—exploitation takes the nephesh of its husband/master.
