Psalm 12:1-8

Chapter 12
For the director, on the sheminith. A psalm. Of David. 1 Help, LORD, for the faithful one is no more; the faithful have ceased among the sons of man. 2 They speak vanity, one man with his fellow; they speak with a smooth lip, heart and heart. 3 May the LORD cut off every smooth lip, every tongue that speaks great things. 4 who have said, "With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are with us—who is lord over us?" 5 "Because of the plundering of the poor, because of the groaning of the needy, now I will arise," says the LORD. "I will place him in safety; he will puff at him." 6 The sayings of the LORD are pure sayings, silver refined in a crucible on the earth, purified seven times. 7 You—the LORD—will keep them; you will guard him from this generation forever. 8 Around the wicked they march, a generation of base men among humankind.
