Jesus Raises Lazarus from the Dead

John 11:38-44

Chapter 11
38 Jesus, therefore, again indignant in himself, comes to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying upon it. 39 Jesus says, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the one who has died, says to him, “Lord, he already stinks, for it is the fourth day.” 40 Jesus says to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” 41 They lifted the stone. But Jesus lifted his eyes upward and said, “Father, I give you thanks that you heard me.” 42 But I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around, I said it, so that they might believe that you sent me. 43 And having said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 He came out, the dead man bound with cloths on his feet and hands, and his face wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus says to them, “Untie him and let him go.”
