Paul's Arrival in Jerusalem and the Temple Ritual

Acts 21:17-26

Chapter 21
17 And when we arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers gladly welcomed us. 18 The next day Paul went with us to see James, and all the elders were present. 19 After greeting them, he explained one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. 20 When they heard this, they glorified God and said to him, "You see, brother, how many myriads of believers there are among the Jews, and they are all zealous for the Law." 21 They were informed that you teach all the Jews among the Gentiles to apostatize from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or walk according to the customs. 22 What then? They will certainly hear that you have come. 23 Do what we tell you: There are four men with us who have taken a vow. 24 Take them along, purify yourself with them, and spend on them so that they will shave their heads. Then everyone will know that what they were told about you is nothing, but that you yourself walk keeping the Law. 25 But concerning the Gentiles who have believed, we have sent a letter with our decision that they should keep themselves from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from strangled animals, and from sexual immorality. 26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day, after being ritually purified with them, he entered the Temple, announcing the completion of the days of purification until the offering was brought for each one of them.
