The Altar Rebuilt and Worship Restored

Ezra 3:1-6

3
Chapter 3
1 When the new moon of the seventh month arrived, the sons of Israel in the cities gathered the people as one man to Jerusalem. 2 Then Jeshua son of Jozadak and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and his brothers, arose and built the altar of the God of Israel to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the Torah of Moses the man of God. 3 And they set up the altar on its bases, for they were afraid of the peoples of the lands, and they offered burnt offerings on it to the LORD, burnt offerings for the morning and for the evening. 4 And they kept the feast of booths as it is written, and they offered burnt offerings day by day, as the command of the day required. 5 And after them, the continual burnt offering, and for the new moons, and for all the appointed times of the LORD that were consecrating, and for all who voluntarily devoted a freewill offering to the LORD. 6 From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD, but the temple of the LORD was not founded.
