The Wedding at Cana: Water Made Wine

John 2:1-11

Chapter 2
1 And on the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Jesus had also been invited to the wedding, along with his disciples. 3 And when the wine had run out, the mother of Jesus says to him, "They have no wine." 4 And Jesus says to her, "What have I to do with you, woman? My hour has not yet come." 5 His mother says to the ministers, "Whatever he says to you, do it." 6 Now there were stone water jars there for the purification of the Jews, containing two or three measures each. 7 Jesus says to them, "Fill the water jars with water." And they filled them up to the top. 8 And he says to them, “Draw some now and carry it to the headwaiter.” And they carried it. 9 But when the master of the table tasted the water that had become wine—and did not know where it was from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew—the master of the table calls the bridegroom. 10 And he says to him, “Every man sets out the good wine first, and when they have drunk freely, the lesser. You have kept the good wine until now.” 11 This he did as the beginning of the signs in Cana of Galilee. And he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
