Job 36:25-37:24

Chapter 36
25 Every man has seen him; humans gaze from afar. 26 Behold—God is exalted, and we do not know the number of his years, nor can anyone investigate. 27 For he cuts off drops of water; they distill rain into mist. 28 which the clouds drip; they shower upon Adam abundantly. 29 Even if he understands the spreadings of the cloud, the crashings of his booth. 30 Behold, he spreads his light over it, and he covers the roots of the sea. 31 For by them he judges the peoples and gives food in abundance. 32 He covers light with his palms, and he commands it at a meeting. 33 It declares concerning him his evil, his livestock, even concerning his burnt offering.

Chapter 37
1 Indeed, at this my heart trembles and leaps from its place. 2 Hear attentively the report in the rumbling of his voice, and the mutter that went out from his mouth. 3 Under all the heavens he directs it straight, and its light upon the wings of the earth. 4 After it he roars with a voice. He thunders with the voice of his pride, and he does not withhold them, for he hears his voice. 5 He thunders with his voice—extraordinary acts he does, divine greatnesses, and we do not know them. 6 For to the snow he says, "Fall on the earth," and to the rain shower, and rain showers of his strength. 7 He seals every human's hand to know that every man is his making. 8 And it comes into its dens—it lurks, and in its dwelling places it dwells. 9 From the inner chamber a storm-wind comes, and from treasuries cold. 10 From the breath of God he gives frost, and the breadth of waters he congeals. 11 Also—he causes his Shepherd to toil cloud; he scatters his cloud-light. 12 And they turn around in his steering, by his guidance, to accomplish all he commands them over the face of the world, upon the earth. 13 Whether for a rod, whether for his land, whether for steadfast love—he will find him. 14 Listen to this, Job; stand and consider the wonders of God. 15 Do you know God's name concerning them, and what happens when the light of our cloud appears? 16 Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of one who is blameless in knowledge? 17 which—your garments are warm when it is still, Earth, from the south. 18 Will you beat out the heavens with him, firm as a cast mirror? 19 Teach us what we should say to him; we cannot be ready because of darkness. 20 Will it be told to him because I speak? If a man speaks, surely he will be swallowed. 21 And now they do not see the bright light; it is in the heavens, and the wind passes by and cleanses them. 22 Gold comes from the north upon God—awesome majesty. 23 Shaddai—they have not found him, lofty in cosmic power and justice and great righteousness—he will not answer. 24 Therefore people fear him; he does not fear all the wise of heart.
