Paul's Personal Appeal and Warning

Galatians 4:8-20

4
Chapter 4
8 But back then, when you did not know God, you served those who by nature are not gods. 9 But now that you know God—or rather, have been known by God—how is it that you are turning back again to the weak and poor elements? Why do you want to be enslaved to them again? 10 You observe days and months and times and years. 11 I fear for you, lest somehow I have labored over you in vain. 12 Become as I am, because I also became as you are, brothers; I beg you. You wronged me in nothing. 13 But you know that because of weakness of the flesh I proclaimed the gospel to you the first time, 14 And you did not despise or reject my temptation in the flesh, but you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus. 15 Where then is your blessedness? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have dug out your eyes and given them to me. 16 So have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? 17 They are zealous for you, but not honorably. They want to shut you out so that you will be zealous for them. 18 But it is good to be zealously sought in good always, and not only when I am present with you. 19 My children, for whom I am travailing again until Christ is formed in you. 20 But I wish to be present with you now and to change my voice, for I am perplexed about you.
