Chapter 13
26 They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to the whole congregation, and they showed them the fruit of the land. 27 They told him and said, "We came to the land you sent us to, and it flows with milk and honey. Here is its fruit." 28 However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. We also saw the descendants of the Anakim there. 29 Amalek is dwelling in the land of the Negev, and the Hittites and the Jebusites and the Amorites are dwelling in the mountain, and the Canaanite is dwelling on the seashore and on the bank of the Jordan. 30 And Caleb hushed the people before Moses and said, "Let us go up, and we will dispossess it, for we are able to do it." 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, "We are not able to go up against that people, for they are stronger than we are." 32 And they brought out a slander against the land which they had spied out to the sons of Israel, saying, "The land through which we passed to spy it out is a land that eats its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in its midst are men of great stature." 33 And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim, and we were in our own eyes like grasshoppers, and so we were in their eyes.
