Chapter 35
1 And the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab at the Jordan near Jericho, saying: 2 Command the sons of Israel, and they shall give to the Levites from the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and pastureland around the cities you shall give to the Levites. 3 And they will be cities for them to dwell in, and their pastures will be for their beasts and for their property and for all their wild animals. 4 The open spaces of the cities that you give the Levites from the LORD's possession shall extend outward a thousand cubits all around. 5 And you shall measure from the city outward, on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst of this. It shall be to them the pasturelands of the cities.
