Chapter 15
33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahiah reigned over all Israel in Tirzah twenty-four years. 34 And he did evil in the eyes of the LORD and walked in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin which he caused Israel to sin.

Chapter 16
1 The word of the LORD came to Jehu son of Hanani concerning Baasha, saying: 2 Since I raised you from the dust and made you prince over My People Israel, and you walked in the way of Jeroboam and caused My People Israel to sin, to provoke Me with their sin offering. 3 Look, I am kindling after Baasha and after his house, and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat. 4 The dead of Baasha in the city of refuge the dogs will eat, and his dead in the portion of the land the birds of the heavens will eat. 5 The rest of the words of Baasha and what he did and his mighty deeds of war—are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Days for the kings of Israel? 6 Baasha lay down with his fathers, and he was buried in Tirzah, and Elah his son reigned in his place. 7 And also by the hand of Jehu son of Hanani the prophet the word of the LORD was to Baasha and to his house and upon all the evil that he did in the eyes of the LORD to provoke him by the work of his hands to be like the house of Jeroboam and upon that which he struck him.
