Perilous Times and the Rise of False Teachers

2 Timothy 3:1-9

Chapter 3
1 But know this: in the last days difficult times will set in. 2 For people will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy. 3 without natural affection, implacable, devils, incontinent, savage, haters of good, 4 traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power—and turn away from these. 6 For from these are the ones sneaking into houses and taking captive little women piled high with sins, led away by diverse desires. 7 always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these oppose the truth—men corrupted in the mind, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 but they will not advance any further, for their folly will be evident to all, just as theirs also became.
