Church Discipline for Immorality

1 Corinthians 5:1-13

5
Chapter 5
1 Altogether it is heard among you sexual immorality, and such sexual immorality as is not even among the nations, so as to have the woman of the father. 2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, so that he who did this work might be removed from your midst. 3 For I indeed, being absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged, as though present, the one who has done this in such a way. 4 in the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are gathered and my spirit is there with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 to hand such a one over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. 6 Your boast is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Clean out the old leaven, so that you may be a new lump, just as you are unleavened. For indeed our Passover, Christ, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us celebrate, not with old leaven or with the leaven of wickedness and evil, but with unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9 I wrote to you in my letter not to mix together with sexually immoral people, 10 not at all with the fornicators of this world or with the greedy and swindlers or idolaters, since then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who is a brother who is named a fornicator or coveter or idolater or reviler or drunkard or extortionist—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what do you judge those outside to me? Do you not judge those inside? 13 But those outside, God judges. "Take the evil one out from yourselves."
