23All things are permitted, but not all things are beneficial. All things are permitted, but not all things build up.24Let no one seek his own good, but the good of the other.25Eat everything sold in the meat market, inquiring about nothing for the sake of conscience.26For "the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness."27If one of the unbelievers invites you and you wish to go, eat whatever is set before you, without asking questions because of conscience.28But if someone says to you, "This has been sacrificed to idols," do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you and for the sake of conscience.29But by "conscience" I mean not one's own but the other's. For why is my freedom judged by another conscience?30If I partake with thanks, why am I defamed for that for which I give thanks?31Therefore, whether you eat or drink or do anything else, do all to the glory of God.32Be without offense both to Jews and to Greeks and to the church of God,33just as I also please all people in all things, not seeking my own benefit but the benefit of the many, so that they might be saved.
