Psalm 110:1-118:29

Chapter 110
A psalm of David. The LORD declares to my lord, "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies as a footstool for your feet." 1 The LORD will send the rod of your strength from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies. 2 The LORD will send forth the staff of your strength from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies. Your people are willing on the day of your host, in the splendor of the holy place; from the womb of the dawn, your dew—your offspring. 3 Your people are a voluntary offering in the day of your strength, in the splendor of holiness, from the womb of the daybreak to you, the dew of your birth. 4 The LORD has sworn and will not regret: "You are a priest forever according to my word, king of righteousness." 5 The Lord at your right hand will judge among nations, filled with corpses; he will crush heads upon land of many. 6 He will judge among the nations; he will fill nations with corpses. He will shatter the head over the earth—far and wide. He will drink from the stream along the way; therefore he will lift up the head.

Chapter 111
1 Praise Yah! I will praise the LORD with all my heart, in the secret council of the upright and assembly. 2 Great are the works of the LORD, sought out by all who delight in them. 3 Glory and splendor are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. 4 He has made his wondrous deeds memorable; gracious and merciful is the LORD. 5 He gives food to those who fear him. He remembers his covenant forever. 6 He declared to his people the power of his deeds, to give them the inheritance of the nations. 7 The works of his hands are truth and justice; all his commandments are faithful. 8 made steadfast forever, to eternity, in truth and uprightness 9 He sent redemption to his people. He commanded his covenant forever. Holy and fearsome is his name. 10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD; good understanding belongs to all who do them; his praise stands forever.

Chapter 112
1 Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments. 2 Mighty one in the land, his seed will be; generation of upright ones will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. 4 Light rises in the darkness for the upright: gracious, merciful, and righteous. 5 A good person is gracious and lends; he will conduct his affairs with justice. 6 For to eternity he will not shake; to memory of eternity he will be righteous. 7 He will not fear an evil report; his heart is established, trusting in the LORD. 8 His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD; he will not fear until he looks in triumph on his foes. 9 He has scattered; he has given to the needy. His righteousness endures forever. His horn rises in glory. 10 The wicked will see it and gnash his teeth with anger, and the craving of the wicked will melt and perish.

Chapter 113
1 Praise Yah! Praise, servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. 2 May the name of the LORD be blessed from now until eternity. 3 From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the LORD be praised. 4 The LORD is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like the LORD our God, who exalts himself to dwell? 6 the one who lowers yourself to see in the heavens and on earth: 7 He raises the poor and needy from the dust, and lifts the oppressed from the ash heap. 8 to make them sit with nobles, with the nobles of his people. 9 He makes the barren woman of the house a joyful mother of sons. Praise Jah!

Chapter 114
1 When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange speech. 2 Judah became his holy place, Israel his dominion. 3 The sea saw and fled, the Jordan turned backward. 4 The mountains danced like rams, the hills like sons of a flock. 5 What ails you, sea, that you flee? Jordan, you turn backward. 6 The mountains danced like rams, the hills like sons of the flock. 7 Tremble, earth, before the Lord, before the God of Jacob. 8 The one turning the rock into a pond of waters, flint into a spring of waters.

Chapter 115
1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, on account of your steadfast love, on account of your truth. 2 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God now?" 3 Our God is in the heavens; he has done all that he pleased. 4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of the hands of men. 5 They have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see. 6 They have ears, but they do not hear; they have nostrils, but they do not smell. 7 They have hands but they do not touch, feet but they do not walk, they do not utter in their throat. 8 Those who make them will be like them, all who trust in them. 9 Israel, trust in the LORD; he is their helper and their shield. 10 House of Aaron, trust in the LORD; he is their help and their shield. 11 You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; he is their helper and their shield. 12 The LORD has remembered us; he will bless, he will bless the house of Israel, he will bless the house of Aaron. 13 He will bless those who fear the LORD, the small with the great. 14 May the LORD add to you, to your sons, and to your grandsons. 15 You are blessed by the LORD, the maker of the heavens and the earth. 16 The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, and the earth he has given to the sons of man. 17 Not the dead will praise Jah, nor all who go down to silence. 18 And we will bless Jah from now until eternal possession. Praise Jah.

Chapter 116
1 I love because the LORD hears my voice, my supplications. 2 For he inclined his ear to me, and in my days I will call. 3 The cords of Death surrounded me, and the straits of Sheol found me; I found distress and grief. 4 In the name of the LORD I call; please, LORD, deliver my soul. 5 The LORD is gracious and righteous, and our God is merciful. 6 The LORD kept the simple; he saved me in my poverty. 7 Return, my soul, to your resting places, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. 8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. 9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living. 10 I believed, so I will speak. I was greatly oppressed. 11 I said in my haste, "Every man is a liar." 12 What shall I return to the LORD for all his recompenses to me? 13 I will lift up the cup of salvation, and I will call on the name of the LORD. 14 I will confirm my vows to the LORD before him—now before all his people. 15 Precious in the eyes of the LORD is the death of his faithful ones. 16 Please, O LORD, for I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds. 17 To you I will sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and in the name of the LORD I will call. 18 I will confirm my vows to the LORD in his presence—now—before all his people. 19 In the courts of the house of the LORD, in the midst of Jerusalem. Praise Yah!

Chapter 117
1 Praise the LORD, all nations; praise him, all peoples. 2 For his steadfast love has prevailed over us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise Yah!

Chapter 118
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever. 2 Let Israel now say: "His steadfast love endures forever." 3 Let the house of Aaron say, "His steadfast love endures forever." 4 Let those who fear the LORD say now, "His steadfast love endures forever." 5 From the straits I called to Jah; Jah answered me in spaciousness. 6 The LORD is with me; I will not fear. What can man do to me? 7 The LORD is my helper, and I will see my haters. 8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. 9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in nobles. 10 All nations surrounded me; in the name of the LORD I cut them off. 11 They surrounded me, they even surrounded me; in the name of the LORD, for I will destroy them. 12 They surrounded me like bees; they went out like a fire of thorns. In the name of the LORD I will subdue them. 13 You pushed me, you pushed me to fall, but the LORD helped me. 14 "Jah is my might and my song of praise, and he has become my salvation." 15 A voice of ringing cries and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD has done valiantly. 16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted; the right hand of the LORD does might. 17 I will not die, but I will live and recount the deeds of the LORD. 18 Discipline! He disciplined me, Jah, and he did not give me to die. 19 Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter them; I will give thanks, Jah. 20 This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous will enter through it. 21 I thank you because you answered me and became salvation to me. 22 The stone the builders rejected has become the head of the corner. 23 This is from the LORD; it is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and exult in it. 25 Please, LORD, save now! Please, LORD, bring divine success now! 26 Blessed is the one coming in the name of the LORD; we bless you from the house of the LORD. 27 God belongs to the LORD, and he has shone upon us. Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. 28 You are my God, and I will thank you; my God, I will exalt you. 29 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever.
