Qal active participles also identify riders, as in 2 Kings 9:18, while 2 Samuel 18:9 places Absalom on a mule beneath the oak.

Hiphil forms show an agent putting another person or object onto a conveyance. In 1 Kings 1:38 the APB renders the group as setting Solomon on King David's female mule, and in Exodus 4:20 Moses sets his wife and sons on the donkey. In 2 Kings 10:16, the clause has others make Jehu ride in a chariot.
