The attested use concerns arms or military equipment: items brought as tribute, kept with a fortified city or an armory, faced in combat, and used as fuel after conflict. The same broad use also appears where the APB’s wording does not isolate the term clearly.

1. Arms and military equipment · dominant

   In 1 Kings 10:25 and 2 Chronicles 9:24, the singular absolute form occurs among tribute items of silver, gold, garments, spices, horses, and mules; the APB renders the list with “weapons.” In Ezekiel 39:9 and Ezekiel 39:10, it belongs to the equipment made into fires, alongside shields, bows, arrows, clubs, and spears in the surrounding verse. In 2 Kings 10:2 it is listed with chariots, horses, and a fortified city, while Job 20:24 and Job 39:21 place it in scenes of fleeing or going out to meet it.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB commonly presents the term as “weapons,” including tribute lists and scenes of conflict or burning implements. In Isaiah 22:8 it renders “the weapons of the house of the forest,” while Nehemiah 3:19 has “the armory”; Psalm 140:8 does not clearly isolate its contribution in the translation.
