The occurrences consistently mark a causal link: obedience is followed by covenantal keeping or blessing, disobedience by perishing, and stated conduct by its ensuing result. The term also frames consequences in prayers and sayings where a condition or action stands in relation to what follows.

1. Causal link between conduct and outcome · dominant

   In Deuteronomy 7:12, the construct form introduces the keeping, doing, and resulting covenantal faithfulness that the APB renders with “because.” Genesis 22:18 and Deuteronomy 8:20 likewise place hearing or failing to obey before the stated blessing or perishing; Psalm 119:112 closes a resolve to perform statutes with the APB wording “as a consequence.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB commonly presents the causal relation with “because,” as in Deuteronomy 7:12, Genesis 22:18, and Deuteronomy 8:20, and once uses “as a consequence” in Psalm 119:112. These phrases describe the clause-level relation rather than a fixed English equivalent.
