Children as members of a household or population · dominant
Both construct and absolute forms identify the children included with households or larger groups. In Genesis 46:5 the APB renders a group carried in wagons as including “their little ones, and their wives”; in Deuteronomy 31:12 it includes “the children” among those assembled to hear; and in Deuteronomy 20:14 it occurs in a city population listed with women, livestock, and spoil.
In the Anselm Project Bible: Across these verses, the APB commonly presents the term as “children” or “little ones,” especially in household and population lists. Because the APB translates whole verses rather than aligning individual words, these renderings confirm the group described by the clauses rather than establish separate meanings.
