Hebdomos marks a person, time, object, or event as occupying number seven in an ordered sequence.

The attested use consistently marks an ordinal position within a sequence: a day and hour, a person from Adam, angels and their actions, a seal, and a stone in a listed foundation sequence.

   The forms identify a numbered place across differing contexts: in John 4:52 the APB renders the time as “the seventh hour,” and in Jude 1:14 it identifies Enoch in relation to Adam. In Revelation 10:7, Revelation 11:15, and Revelation 16:17, the masculine forms occur with an angel and successive actions; Revelation 21:20 places chrysolite after the fifth and sixth stones and before the eighth.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB regularly presents the ordinal explicitly, including “the seventh day,” “the seventh hour,” “the seventh angel,” and “the seventh seal.” These renderings confirm the verse-level sequence without establishing a separate nuance for each context.
