Peleg is named as Eber’s son and Reu’s father in Genesis and Luke.
Peleg is a biblical person identified as a son of Eber and the father of Reu. He is first named among Eber’s two sons; the passage says that “in his days the land was divided,” and names Joktan as his brother (Genesis 10:25). Genesis again states that Eber fathered Peleg and that Peleg fathered Reu (Genesis 11:16; Genesis 11:18). Luke’s genealogy likewise places Peleg between Reu and Eber (Luke 3:35).
