Eber

Eber in the Bible is a biblical person to whom two sons, Peleg and Joktan, were born; Peleg’s brother is named Joktan in the same passage (Genesis 10:25). Genesis also states that Shelah begot Eber (Genesis 10:24) and that Eber fathered Peleg (Genesis 11:16). Luke includes Eber in a line that names Peleg as Eber’s son (Luke 3:35).

Eber is named in at least 9 verses across Genesis, Numbers, and Luke. Numbers contains a statement concerning ships that will afflict Assyria and Eber (Numbers 24:24).
