Elam
e.lam is a proper name used for named individuals and for groups called the sons of Elam.

The Proper noun occurs in group formulas: in Ezra 2:7 the APB renders “The sons of Elam numbered one thousand two hundred fifty-four,” while Ezra 8:7 introduces Jeshaiah as coming “from the sons of Elam.” Ezra 2:31 and Nehemiah 7:34 distinguish another group bearing this designation, and Ezra 10:26 lists people “from the sons of Elam.”

The Proper noun names an individual among other people: 1 Chronicles 26:3 places Elam between named persons in a numbered list, and 1 Chronicles 8:24 includes Elam in a sequence with Hananiah and Anthothijah. In Nehemiah 12:42 the APB likewise includes Elam among those present.
In the Anselm Project Bible: Across the group-list passages, the APB commonly presents the name in “sons of Elam” formulas; in personal lists it presents “Elam” among other names. Because the APB is a whole-verse translation, these renderings show the verse context rather than a separate definition.
