ge denotes the earth as the realm beneath heaven, a named land, or the ground and shore underfoot.
The term most often names the earthly realm in contrast with heaven, including the created world, its extent, and its future renewal. It also identifies particular territories and can denote the ground or shore reached, stood upon, or entered.

In heaven-and-earth pairings, the term marks the earthly side of the created order: in Acts 14:15 the APB renders God as maker of “the heaven and the earth and the sea,” and in Colossians 1:16 it renders created things “in the heavens and on the earth.” It also frames the world's extent in Acts 1:8, “to the end of the earth,” and its future condition in 2 Peter 3:13, “a new earth.”

A particular land or territory · common
With place names or possession language, the term identifies a bounded land. In Acts 13:17 the APB renders Israel's sojourn “in the land of Egypt”; Acts 13:19 speaks of “the land of Canaan” and land allotted to the people; and Hebrews 11:9 calls it “the land of the promise.”

Ground under a person or seed · occasional
The accusative singular occurs where something falls, rises, or is placed on the ground. In John 12:24 the APB renders a grain falling “into the earth,” while Acts 9:4 renders Saul as having “fell to the ground.”

Landfall or shore · occasional
In the shipwreck account, the accusative singular identifies the land reached from the sea. The APB renders the destination as “the land” in Acts 27:43 and says that all were brought safely “to land” in Acts 27:44; John 21:9 likewise places the disciples on land.
In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB commonly presents the term as “earth,” especially in contrast with heaven, but uses “land” for territories and “ground” or “shore” in arrival and falling contexts. These renderings reflect whole clauses to the Greek term.
