anangello is used for making information known to others, including news, actions, teaching, and coming events.

The attested use consistently concerns communicating information to others: people recount what God has done, make practices known, declare teaching, and speak of matters yet to come. The passive occurrences likewise describe something being made known to its recipients.

   In Acts 14:27 and Acts 15:4, the plural active forms occur as those arriving recount all that God had done with them; the APB renders these clauses “they reported all that God had done with them.” In John 16:13, the future active form concerns the spirit of truth making “the coming things” known, while Acts 20:20 places the infinitive with public and house-to-house teaching. In Acts 19:18, the present participle occurs as believers come confessing and disclosing their practices.
