A fertile coastal plain of Israel, Sharon is named in Chronicles, Song of Songs, Isaiah, and Acts.
In the Bible, the Plain of Sharon is a fertile coastal plain of Israel, named in at least seven verses across four books. Chronicles places pastures of Sharon on the borders of Gilead and Bashan, and records cattle pasturing there (1 Chronicles 5:16; 1 Chronicles 27:29). Song of Songs includes the speaker’s words, “I am a crocus of Sharon” (Song of Songs 2:1).
Isaiah describes Sharon as becoming a pasture for flocks and elsewhere says that Sharon is like the steppe (Isaiah 65:10; Isaiah 33:9). Acts names Sharon alongside Lydda, where those dwelling in both places saw him and turned to the Lord (Acts 9:35).
