Riblah is a biblical city named in boundary, judgment, and desolation passages.
In the Bible, Riblah is a city east of Ain, named along a border running toward the Sea of Chinnereth (Numbers 34:11). It appears in at least 12 verses across four books. Several passages call it a place in the land of Hamath. Pharaoh-neco bound a ruler there (2 Kings 23:33), and a king was brought to the king of Babylon at Riblah for judgment (2 Kings 25:6). Jeremiah states that the king of Babylon slaughtered Zedekiah’s sons and Judah’s officials at Riblah (Jeremiah 52:10). Ezekiel refers to devastation “from the wilderness toward Riblah” (Ezekiel 6:14).
