Megiddo is a city named in biblical accounts of Manasseh, royal administration, conflict, and mourning.

In the Bible, Megiddo is a city listed among the places belonging to Manasseh, alongside Taanach and other settlements (Joshua 17:11). It is also named as having its own king (Joshua 12:21), while Judges says Manasseh did not dispossess its inhabitants (Judges 1:27).

The city appears in accounts of fighting near its waters (Judges 5:19), Solomon's building works (1 Kings 9:15), and Baana's administration (1 Kings 4:12). Pharaoh-neco killed King Josiah at Megiddo (2 Kings 23:29), and Zechariah compares Jerusalem's mourning with mourning in the valley of Megiddo (Zechariah 12:11).
